Role Purpose and Objective:

This role is under the Product Engineering division, within the Enterprise Cloud Services Delivery Technical Operations team managing SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud (HEC) environments. The Associate Linux Administrator will handle infrastructure support of SAP technologies across multiple cloud and data center infrastructures (SAP DCs, AWS, Azure, GCP).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle incidents, alerts, and service requests for SAP landscapes.
  • Deliver, maintain, and support complex SAP landscapes focused on Linux operating systems.
  • Plan, setup, configure, and operate SAP-related infrastructure ensuring SLAs are achieved.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, OS, application, and DB issues impacting operations.
  • Manage daily operations to ensure high system availability.
  • Document technical processes and contribute to knowledge sharing.
  • Coordinate with global teams during crisis and project situations.
  • Specialize in an area like Basis/application, OS, or Database and own problem resolution end-to-end.

Key Technical Skills:

Linux administration, scripting (Shell, Perl, Python, Go), networking basics (DNS, LDAP, Samba, sFTP, Sendmail, Postfix), public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), virtualization (XEN, VMware), NFS, RAID, OS monitoring, backup/restore, configuration automation (Chef), technical documentation.

Requirements:

  • BE / BTech / MCA from a reputable institute.
  • 1-3 years experience in Linux administration.
  • IT networking service experience (DNS, LDAP, Samba, etc.).
  • Experience on at least one public cloud platform (Azure/AWS/GCP).
  • Scripting proficiency in Shell, Perl, Python, Go, or similar.
  • Virtualization experience (XEN, VMware).
  • Familiarity with automation tools like Chef.
  • Analytical, independent learner with good English communication skills.
  • Ability to work internationally with virtual teams.

Preferred:

  • Basic knowledge of SAP products like Content Server, S/4 HANA, Business Objects, and SAP NetWeaver.
  • Exposure to ITIL framework.
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux, HANA DB, Sybase ASE databases.
